MeT predicts light snow, rain at isolated places from Jan 29

Srinagar, Jan 23 (KNO): The minimum as well as the maximum temperatures across the Valley continued to settle above normal on Thursday while the weatherman has predicted no major weather activity till January 31 across Jammu and Kashmir. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the maximum temperature settled at 13.3 degree Celsius in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, which was 6.2 degree Celsius above normal while the minimum temperature was also 0.3 degree above normal. As per the details, Gulmarg recorded a day temperature of 3.0 degree Celsius against the normal of 0.1 degree while the night temperature settled at minus 7.5 degree Celsius against minus 8.4 degree Celsius normal. The maximum temperature in Qazigund, a gateway of Kashmir settled at 13.4 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at minus 2.6 degree Celsius. Pahalgam, recorded a day temperature of 9.6 degree Celsius against the normal of 4.8 degree while the night temperature settled at 5.6 degree Celsius. Kupwara recorded a day temperature of 13.7 degree Celsius while the night temperature settled at minus 2.2 degree Celsius and Kokernag in South Kashmir recorded a day temperature of 9.8 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at minus 1.6 degree Celsius. Meanwhile, the Director Meteorological department (MeT) has predicted mostly dry and cloudy weather conditions till January 31. However, he stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snow at isolated places in between January 29 and 30—(KNO)
